heylisten Beadhead takes its sweet time.
To the untrained ear, they may come off as muffled, at times apathetic lull music burning ever so slowly. However, if you listen closely, it'll soon dawn on you that their sound stands for so much more than what they may let on on a first listen.

WFLW is substantiated by more than just swelling crescendos. The fuzzy vocals infuse each song with an unrelenting honesty that carries and elevates it to stratospheric territory.

about

Original 1994 album remastered and repackaged in an expanded gatefold and pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl.

“On a family vacation to Florida in the mid-‘70s, Bubba cut his head on the bedside table in a motel room. I still remember it vividly and how I was haunted by the matter-of-fact line: ‘you cut your head on the bedside table.’ Its ten syllables sounded right, but the content is what really haunted me. It felt like the ultimate betrayal, the bedside table taking advantage of its proximity to a serenely sleeping body.”—Matt Kadane

“WhatFunLifeWas is concise and evocative, songs whose meticulous conception sacrifices nothing in the way of visceral power. Heady without being stifled, dynamic without being obvious, quiet but best heard loudly, /fun takes the simple and builds it into something deceptively complex.”—Dallas Observer

about

Bedhead Dallas, Texas

As a quintet originally started by brothers Matt and Bubba Kadane, the Texan band shed a dreamy, albeit gloomy, light on slowcore. Jockeying back and forth between lulling notes that seemed to drag their feet and and a folkier, although still slowly calculated, tempo, Bedhead floats out of the genre it was originally defined in. ... more
